Following is special information about the Union Plus Credit Card — exclusively for union members and their families — to help you understand its most important features.
- The Union Plus Credit Card is the only credit card that caps its rates. And, any change in terms must be agreed to by Union Privilege, the organization founded by the AFL-CIO that uses the power of millions of union members to develop benefits for working families.
- The Union Plus Credit Card has no mandatory arbitration. Plus, Union Privilege has a full-time union member advocate who is available to help resolve any concerns that can't be resolved with the card issuer. Union members can submit questions about their Union Plus benefits here.
- Union Plus Credit Card Fact: Special protections for union members in financial difficulty include the Union SAFE grants for cardholders who experience a significant loss of household income due to a recent long-term illness or prolonged disability; the Disaster Relief Fund provides grants to members affected by a natural disaster ($400,000 provided to cardholders impacted by Hurricane Katrina); the layoff helpline to assist members who have been laid off with reduced rates or fixed payment plans; and skip payments (up to four per year) to assist members on strike or facing other economic crises.
